Youth who are bonded to school are less likely to use substances and less likely to struggle with mental health. The Pirate Partners Youth Coalition is a group of teens led by two advisors who strive to create a sense of well-being at Pomeroy High School. Pirate Partners host events like Fugitive, cookie decorating, painting, cookie decorating, and awareness weeks like Red Ribbon Week an Kindness Week. Members of Pirate Partners also travel to conferences where they learn about substance use prevention and things to bring back to their peers at PHS
